Strangr is an Omegle alternative built with modern technology. Unlike Omegle, Strangr uses Google Firebase for real-time matching, has AI-powered safety moderation, vibe rooms for themed conversations, and works as a PWA you can install on your phone.
Yes — completely. We use Firebase Anonymous Auth, which gives you a random session ID. No email, no phone, no name. We don't know who you are, and neither does your stranger. Chat history is deleted when both users disconnect.
On the matching screen, tap the 📍 Distance filter and choose "Nearby" or "Same city". The app uses your approximate GPS location (rounded to 1km for privacy) to find strangers in your area. Nearby matching is a Premium feature.

Strangr is free forever. We fund the platform through display advertising (Google AdSense and partner networks) and Strangr Premium — an optional subscription for advanced filters, ad-free experience, and priority matching.

Strangr requires no account. We collect: IP address (fraud/geo, deleted after 90 days), device/browser info (performance), and anonymized usage analytics. Chat messages are not stored after sessions end — they exist only in real-time Firebase Firestore during the active session and are deleted when both users disconnect.
Strangr is built on Google Firebase. Firebase processes data per Google's Privacy Policy. Anonymous Auth assigns a random UID — no email, phone, or identity attached. Firestore data is stored in Google's cloud and subject to Google Cloud's security certifications.
We display ads via Google AdSense and partner networks. These networks use cookies to serve interest-based ads. You can opt out at Google Ads Settings. We never share chat content with advertisers. Premium subscribers are ad-free.
Strangr is strictly for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor is using the platform, contact safety@strangr.live immediately.
EU/UK users: right to access, rectify, erase, and port data. California users: right to know and delete. We do not sell personal information. Contact privacy@strangr.live to exercise your rights.
All data in transit is TLS-encrypted. Firebase Security Rules restrict Firestore access to authenticated session participants only. We conduct regular security reviews.

You must be 18 or older to use Strangr.live. By using the platform you confirm you meet this requirement.
You agree not to: share CSAM (reported to NCMEC and law enforcement immediately), harass or threaten users, share non-consensual explicit content, impersonate others, spam or advertise, distribute malware, or attempt to circumvent moderation systems.
You are solely responsible for your messages. Our AI moderation system scans in real-time. Violations result in immediate session termination and potential permanent ban. Serious violations (CSAM, threats of violence) are reported to relevant authorities.
Messages are processed through Google Firebase in real-time. Session data is ephemeral. By using Strangr you also agree to Firebase Terms of Service.
Premium subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds per applicable consumer law. Cancelled subscriptions remain active through period end.
Service provided "AS IS." Strangr's liability is limited to $100 USD. We are not responsible for user-generated content.

Every conversation is scanned in real-time for violations. Sexual content involving minors triggers immediate session termination and mandatory reporting to NCMEC. Hate speech and threats result in permanent bans.
The 🚩 report button is in every chat. Reports go directly to our Trust & Safety queue and are reviewed within 24 hours. Repeat violators are permanently banned by device fingerprint and IP range.
Never share: full name, address, phone number, social media handles, school or workplace, or financial details. Strangr never asks for this. Neither should the people you chat with.
Strangr is 18+ only. We use age estimation signals and behavioral detection to identify and remove underage users. Any CSAM encountered should be reported immediately at safety@strangr.live.
